How Babynamed works
Babynamed is a baby name app for two. You each swipe on your own phone, and only the names you both like are shown to both of you.
Create a room
One of you opens Babynamed and creates a room. Choose girls' or boys' names and one country's name list. You can change the country later.
Invite your partner
Send the invite link. Your partner opens it on their phone and joins the room. If the link won't open, there's a 6-digit invite code. A room holds two people.
Swipe at your own pace
The first round starts on both phones as soon as your partner joins. A round is the same set of names for both of you; the order and the speed are your own. Swipe right or tap Like, swipe left or tap Skip.
Keep your skips to yourself
Babynamed never shows your partner what you liked or skipped. A name is revealed only when you both like it, and then it appears on both phones at once.
Start the next round together
When you've both finished a round, you can start the next one. Each round brings a few more names, picked at random. Once you like or skip a name, it won't come back to you, even in a new room.
Keep your shared names
Every shared name is saved to My names, your own list across all your rooms. Without an account the list stays on that device; with one, it follows you to any phone.
Look closer at a name
Tap a name to see its meaning and origin for free. For your final few, a Full Analysis checks the name in five languages, tries out nicknames and looks for online names with your last name. It costs 1 credit.
End the room when you are done
Either of you can end the room. Your shared names stay on both of your lists. A room where nobody swipes ends after 14 days, and a room with no activity for 90 days ends on its own.
Try it with your partner
Create a room in a minute and send the link.
