Who we are

Babynamed is run by SADIK SEFA ASLAN, a private individual, not a company.

These terms are an agreement between you and the person named above. They are currently available in English only.

How you accept these terms

You accept these terms when you create a room, join a room, or continue with Google or X using a button that has a note about these terms under it. Under each of these buttons, the note says so and links to this page. If you do not agree, do not use Babynamed. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your data; it is a notice, not part of this agreement, but please read it.

Who can use Babynamed

You must be 18 or older. Babynamed is for your personal, non-commercial use: choosing a name together with your partner. You can use it as a guest or with an account you open with Google or X.

What Babynamed does

Babynamed helps two people agree on a baby name. You create a room, invite your partner, and each of you votes on names from our list on your own device. Names you both like become your shared names and are saved to each of your “My names” lists. Name facts (meaning and origin), pronunciation and religious-origin notes are free. Full Analysis is a paid report about one name, written with AI; each report costs 1 credit. The names come from public sources listed on our Sources page.

Guests and accounts

As a guest, your access to your room depends on the cookie in your browser. If you clear that cookie, switch to another device, or tap “Sign out”, you cannot get back to your guest data. If you do not open Babynamed for 30 days, your guest data is deleted. An account keeps your My names list, reports and credits until you delete the account; they are not deleted for inactivity. You need an account to buy credits.

Your partner and invite links

A room is for two people. Anyone with your invite link or invite code can see your display name and the room’s name preference, and can join if the room is not full. Share the link only with the person you want in the room; you are responsible for whom you invite. Your partner sees your display name, your shared names, your round progress and whether you have asked for a new round, but not your individual votes, the names you skipped, your last name, your reports or your credits. If either of you ends the room, the shared names stay in both of your lists. If one of you deletes their account, the room closes and the shared names stay only in the other person’s list.

What you may not do

Do not:

use Full Analysis to look into a specific real person, for example by entering someone else’s first and last name;
enter content that is unlawful or that you have no right to use;
use bots, scrape the site, or try to get around our rate limits or access controls;
use another person’s invite link, invite code or report link without their permission, or try to find out who is behind a shared link or code;
resell credits, reports or the name data, or use Babynamed for anything other than personal name choosing.

If you do, we may limit or end your access (see “Ending your access”).

Your names and your reports

What you enter — your display name, your last name, the names you type and your votes — stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Babynamed for you: to show your display name and shared names to your partner, to prepare your reports, and to show a report on a link you choose to share. That permission ends when the data is deleted, except for the name-only part of reports (meaning, origin and nicknames), which we keep and reuse without any link to you. We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models. You may share your own report through its link and use it for personal purposes.

Our content and open data

The Babynamed name, design, software and the way reports are put together belong to us. The name data comes from public sources, each under its own license, listed on our Sources page. These terms add no restrictions to that data beyond its own licenses. Excerpts from Wikipedia and Wiktionary in reports are under CC BY-SA 4.0, and the slang list we check against is under CC BY 4.0, as noted on the Sources page.

Full Analysis is written by AI

The meaning, origin and nickname sections of a Full Analysis are written by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic). Nobody reviews a report before you see it. AI can be wrong, incomplete, misleading or out of date: meanings and origins may be approximate, and the slang check shows what stands out and may miss uses that are local or new. Where the origin section cites a source, the link is shown; where it does not, the text is the model’s own knowledge. Do not rely on the facts in a report without checking them yourself. The domain and username results show the situation when we last checked, which can be up to a day before your report. They can change at any time, and they are not a reservation. A Full Analysis is information, not legal, trademark, cultural or naming advice, and it does not tell you whether a name is suitable or lawful where you live. We do not promise that a report is correct or complete.

Credits and payments

Each Full Analysis costs 1 credit. Credits are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; our Purchase terms cover prices, delivery, cancellation and refunds and are part of these terms. If a report fails because of an error on our side or at a provider, the credit is returned automatically. Credits belong to your account: they are not shared with your partner, cannot be transferred, and are not paid out as money. Credits do not expire.

No warranties

BABYNAMED IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not promise that Babynamed will be available without interruption or error, or that any name will be right for your child.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims connected with Babynamed is limited to the amount you paid for Babynamed credits in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. If you paid nothing in that period, that amount is zero. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including a name you later regret or a disagreement with your partner. These limits do not apply to our fraud, intent or gross negligence, or to anything the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights that the law of the country where you live gives you and that cannot be waived.

Ending your access

You can stop using Babynamed at any time and delete your data from the Account screen. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we must do so to protect Babynamed, other people or our providers. Automatic deletion of inactive guest data and inactive rooms is described in the Privacy policy.

If Babynamed closes

If we decide to shut Babynamed down, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance, and you can use your remaining credits during that time. We make no promise of a refund for credits you have not used by then. “No expiry” means for as long as Babynamed runs, not forever.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. You can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, as far as the law gives you that right. Otherwise, disputes go to the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms. Your purchase of credits is a separate contract with Lemon Squeezy under its buyer terms, which have their own law and courts clause. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms; we will post the new version here with a new date. We do not send notification emails, so check this page. A change applies to what you do after it is posted, not to what you did before.
